25 RDF officers commence a UN Staff Officers Course at RPA

Kigali: The United Nations Staff Officers Training of Trainers (ToT) Course began today, Monday 2 December 2019 at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) and will run up to 13 December 2019.

It aims at familiarising trainees with specialised training materials for UN staff officers and to enhance their capacities to perform the duties of UN military staff and deliver the same materials back home and internationally.

During his opening remarks, Col Jill Rutaremara, the Director of Rwanda Peace Academy, said that the course is important as it will enhance participants’ proficiency in the performance of their staff duties.

“The course will orient you to the UN approach to peace operations. I wish underline that this course is to a great extend unique because it was selected based on the RDF training needs assessment in the area of peacekeeping,” said Col Rutaremara.

The two-weeks course is organized in partnership between the Rwanda Peace Academy and the British Peace Support Team, Africa (BPST-A). (End)
