This afternoon at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame officiated the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed Minister of Infrastructure, Dr. Jimmy Gasore.
“When one is in a position to serve Rwandans and serve the country, you put your interests as an individual aside, even though you don’t forget them because everyone has the right to want to improve their standards of living. But when it comes to such responsibilities, improving the lives of Rwandans and our country must come before everything else.” President Kagame said at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Minister of Infrastructure.
“My advice to him and others, including current cabinet members, is that serving the interests of citizens should always take precedence, even though personal gains cannot be entirely disregarded because everyone has the right to want to improve their standards of living. The primary focus is to serve the nation and its citizens, with individual interests being met collectively,” President Kagame added in his address.
Dr. Gasore is a former lecturer at the University of Rwanda, where he specialized in atmospheric sciences. Additionally, he served as the Station Chief Scientist for the Rwanda Climate Observatory and was a dedicated research fellow at the Kigali Collaborative Research Center (KCRC).
His academic journey includes earning a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the National University of Rwanda in 2008 and culminating in a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in February 2018. (End).
