Police Volleyball Club wins Rutsindura memorial tourney

Police Volleyball Club won the 21st edition of Rutsindura Memorial Tournament on Sunday, May 25, after overcoming REG 3-1 in the finals played at Petit Séminaire Virgo Fidelis in Huye District.

The two-day tournament brought together five top tier men’s teams: Police VC, REG VC, Gisagara VC, APR VC, and Kepler VC.

After advancing from the group stages, Police VC defeated Kepler VC 3-1 in the semifinals and went on to face REG VC in the final.

The annual tournament commemorates Alphonse Rutsindura, the former Vice President of the Volleyball Federation, a teacher, referee and coach, who was killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. (End)
