Today, Rwanda Cooperation Initiative (RCI) welcomed a delegation from the Kingdom of Eswatini’s judiciary sector as they commenced a week-long study visit in Kigali. The visit is designed to provide deep technical insights into Rwanda’s legal and digital frameworks.
Throughout the week, they will meet in comprehensive sessions with key national institutions, including MINALOC (Minister of Local Administration), NIDA (National Identification Agency), National Land Authority (NLA), RDB (Rwanda Development Board), RRA (Rwanda Revenue Authority), MINIJUST (Ministry of Justice), and IremboGov to analyze digital land registries, electronic deceased estate management, and integrated judicial enforcement platforms like the E-Auction system.
It is expected that the discussions they will have with these institutions will help them to analyze in depth the methods used by Rwanda to store and manage land information using technology, the methods of tracking deceased assets electronically, and the methods of implementing court decisions using modern systems including the “E-Auction” method.
This visit is considered a major step in continuing to share experiences between the countries, with the aim of improving the functioning of the justice system and increasing the efficiency of technology-based services in providing services to the public.
Rwanda and Eswatini already have good relations based on cooperation in diplomacy, technology, tourism, and security.
In August 2024, the two countries signed a cooperation agreement abolishing visas for holders of diplomatic and service passports. This was followed by the visit of King Mswati III to Kigali. (End)
