Alex Kagame takes over the JTF Command in Mozambique

The outgoing Rwanda Security Forces Joint Task Force (JTF) in Mozambique handed over to incoming Contingent after one-year tour of duty in Cabo Delgado province.

The outgoing Force Commander Maj Gen E Nkubito handed over to incoming Force Commander Maj Gen A Kagame, while outgoing Task Force Battle Group (TFBG) commander Brig Gen F Mutembe handed over to Col T Bahizi, the incoming TFBG Comd. 

The handover ceremony took place at the JTF HeadQuarters (JTF HQ) in Mocimboa Da Praia and was attended by TFBG commanders, Police Component Commanders, NISS Staff and other Staff officers.

On arrival, Maj Gen A Kagame was briefed by the outgoing JTF Comd Maj Gen E Nkubito on the RSF activities and had the opportunity of touring RSF area of responsibility including Mocimboa Da Praia, Pundanhar, Afungi, Palma and Mbau.

Maj Gen A Kagame thanked the outgoing Rwanda Security Forces (RSF) leadership for their impressive achievements registered throughout the year. He also commended the good coordination and cooperation with Mozambican forces in maintaining security in the RSF area of operation. (End)
