Ambassadors of Arab countries represented in Rwanda participated Umuganda to build an ECD

The Ambassadors of the Arab countries represented in Rwanda participated this Saturday in the community works of Umuganda to build an Early Childhood Development Center (ECD) in the Village Sangwa, Kimisagara Cell, Kimisagara Sector, Nyagugenge District.

 The work in which they took part with the population and the local authorities represents a cost of 7 million Frw. While the whole ECD project will cost Frw 32 million.

The Minister of Sports of Mali, Lord Mayor of the City of Kigali, the Executive Administrator of Nyarugenge District, and the Director General for Asia & Pacific Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, and the Representatives of Security Organs, all participated in the community work.

In his remarks, H.E. Hazza Alqahtani, Ambassador of United Arab Emirates, as Dean of Ambassadors of Arab countries represented in Kigali, said: 

“On behalf of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Diplomatic Corps Group of Ambassadors from the Embassies of Morocco, Algeria, Qatar, Sudan, Libya & Egypt. Muraho neza. We are honored to take part in today’s Umuganda and pledge our contribution of more than 150 bags of cement, as this community builds this Early Childhood Development Center (ECD). Rwanda’s Umuganda is a truly remarkable concept that embodies the spirit of unity, progress, and community development”.

He added: “I want to take a moment to recognize H.E President Paul Kagame’s extraordinary leadership that brought all Rwandans together in all aspects, to create a powerful force for positive change and working together for the greater good of their communities. On behalf of all the Ambassadors in the Arab Diplomatic Corps Group, I want to thank the Ministry of Local Government and the Kigali City Council for their steadfastness to this monthly activity and for allowing us to participate in today’s Umuganda, a community activity that has become a symbol of Rwanda’s resilience and determination to rise above adversity.
