Kigali Genocide Memorial welcomed Her Royal Highness Marie-Chantal, Crown Princess of Greece, who paid respects to the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi and toured the memorial exhibits.
The tour began with a laying of wreaths on the burial place where 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi are laid to rest.

Her Royal Highness Marie-Chantal was then guided through the museum, learning about the history of the Genocide, from the colonial roots of ethnic division through to the horrors of the killings.
During this visit, Her Royal Highness Marie-Chantal also had the opportunity to learn about the efforts by Rwandans to rebuild and reconcile after the Genocide.
To conclude this visit, Her Royal Highness Marie-Chantal left a message in the memorial guest book.
She wrote: “We must always remember! Very hard to see but so important. Thank you and God bless all the families” (End)
