EAC Armed Forces CIMIC activities contribute in deepening cooperation

The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Medical Contingent treated 1129 patients during the EAC Armed Forces Civil Military Cooperation Week at Muumandu Health Center, Machakos County, Kenya.

During the CIMIC medical week that concluded today, the RDF specialised medics in collaboration with Kenya Defence Force (KDF) provided free treatment in pediatrics, gynecology, internal medicine, general medicine, ophthalmology and dental.

When he visited the medical activities at Muumandu Health Center on Tuesday 12 October 2021, the High Commissioner of Rwanda to Kenya, Dr Richard Masozera said the KDF and RDF collaboration demonstrated the EAC integration spirit.

Maj Gen S O Radina, KDF General Officer Commanding Border Security visited the RDF medical services at Muumandu Health Center and thanked the Rwandan Contingent for work done emphasising that the local community benefited from the medical expertise sent from Rwanda. “When the cooperation is good it is our people who benefit” he said.

Col R Kiptoo, the Chair of EAC Defence Liaison Officers said the EAC secretariat was happy with the work done by respective EAC Armed Forces Contingents and was convinced that the activities contributed a lot in deepening and widening the cooperation between EAC member states.

He further noted that the patients who received these medical treatment were extremely satisfied with the services offered by RDF.(End)
