Kigali: Rwanda Football Federation has confirmed that it has secured a medical insurance agreement with insurance company, UAP with an aim of providing medical cover for injuries and fatal accidents sustained by players and officials during matches of all FERWAFA competitions.
In an official communiqué addressed to all clubs on Wednesday, 05 February 2020, The Secretary General notified all the clubs about the contract that have been signed between FERWAFA and UAP regarding insurance cover for all players, technical staff members as well as match officials featuring in all FERWAFA competitions in 2019/20 season namely Rwanda premier league, FERWAFA Peace Cup, 1st & 2nd division men and women leagues.
The scope of the insurance is only limited to fatal accident, fractures or any other soft tissue injury due to accident as well as Permanent and Temporary disability due to accident occurred during official matches.
Players or officials affected starting from 04/12/2019 shall be required to submit pay slips as well as proof of their involvements during concerned matches to UAP for the reimbursements.
Each concerned person is entitled to 200,000 Rwf of refund fee per season while for cases regarding fatal accidents as well as Permanent Temporary disability 2,000,000 Rwf shall be refunded. The insurance cover is only effective for 2019-2020 season. (End)
