Hinga Weze offers grant to enhance agricultural information systems

Kigali: Hinga Weze yesterday signed a Rwf 82 million grant with BK Techhouse to enhance the digital features of Smart Nkunganire System, and extend Smart Nkunganire to the market information system as far as the agro-inputs are concerned.

Daniel Gies, Chief of Party at Cultivating News Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA) / Hinga Weze during the signing ceremony said, “We are proud to partner with BK TecHouse for the great work setting an example on Rwanda and all the rest of Africa in the context of agro-inputs distribution.”

“We have very big plans at Hinga weze to make sure that farmers are more informed about the opportunity to access market and about opportunities to purchase more accessible, affordable agriculture inputs,” he added.

The CEO of BK TecHouse, Claude Munyangabo explained that  SNS (Smart Nkunganire System) is a very long concept and the market information system is one of key milestones of SNS, expressing optimism that the funds will be utilized efficiently to benefit stakeholders in the right time.

“We thank Hinga weze project for making it possible and look forward to more stronger partnership in the future,” noted Munyangabo.

The partnership with BK TecHouse allows the expansion in wide areas, through this partnership in the next year, more farmers will be provided with more information where thousands will be able to access information on seeds, agricultural inputs and market activities.
