India donates 50,000 Covid-19 vaccines to Rwanda

With the support of the Government of India, Rwanda on Friday morning, March 5, 2021, received 50,000 AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines.

The vaccines brought by Qatar Airways, arrived at Kigali airport and were received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Vincent Biruta.

The vaccines, which came after more than 300,000 others recently received under the Covax program, are in the categories of AstraZeneca and Pfizer. The grant will help in vaccinating more Rwandans during a campaign launched this Friday morning across the count.

Yesterday, military helicopters contributed in transportation and distribution of vaccines to 50 hospitals across the country. (End)
