Inter-Libyan Dialogue in Morocco: seeking “Global Consensus” on the occupants of the sovereignty posts

The delegations of the Libyan High Council of State and the House of Representatives, which took part in the second round of the inter-Libyan dialogue sessions, announced on Saturday 3rd October 2020, in Bouznika, Morocco, that their meetings will continue in order to reach a “global consensus” on the choice of the occupants of sovereignty posts in accordance with Article 15 of the Libyan political agreement concluded in Skhirat in December 2015.

This meeting “took place in a climate of understanding and consensus on the criteria to be taken into account in choosing the occupants of sovereign posts, in accordance with Article 15 of the Libyan political agreement reached in Skhirat,” said Driss Omran, of the Libyan House of Representatives.

The two delegations had reached, during the first round of the inter-Libyan dialogue sessions in Bouznika (6-10 September 2020), “important agreements on the mechanisms to be taken into consideration in the selection of the occupants of these posts,” he stressed.

The meetings, Omran added, “will continue in order to reach a global consensus on all measures relating to Article 15 of the Libyan political agreement” reached in Skhirat.

The delegation of the Libyan High State Council is chaired by Mr. Fawzi Al-Agab, while the delegation of the Libyan House of Representatives is chaired by Mr. Youssef El Akkouri.
