Mutsindashyaka in court Thursday

E-mail Print

Kigali: Embattled former Minister Theoneste Mutsindashyaka is appearing before court this Thursday as the State builds a case against him on alleged abuse of office and possible bribery, RNA reports.

Immediately after President Kagame sacked him from cabinet some weeks back, there had an ongoing case in which his name was repeatedly mentioned, but the Prosecutor said there was no evidence. However, he continued appearing before investigators who say he has been very cooperative.

Things took another turn last week when court in a separate case demanded that prosecution produce Mr. Mutsindashyaka as a witness. On Monday, the Office of the Prosecutor announced a U-Turn that there was sufficient evidence to prosecute the former State Minister for Education.
