Today, 6 December 2022, at Rwanda Correctional Service Headquarters (RCS HQs), RCS and the National Industrial Research and Development Agency (NIRDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing partnership between the two institutions.
The key areas covered by the MoU include, but not limited to technological research, capacity building, training and technical assistance, marketing, acquisition of low-cost machinery, mobilization of funds and development of joint projects.
The focus will be on labor-intensive projects and small industries. The move is premised on the existence of a diverse, skilled and readily available manpower within RCS Correctional facilities that can be efficiently used in well-planned production activities. (End)
