Rwanda and Cuba to strengthen cooperation in Education

The Minister of Education, Dr Valentine Uwamariya, received today Tania Pérez Xiqués, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Rwanda with residence in Kampala.

Ambassador Tania Pérez Xiqués with Minister Valentine Uwamariya discussed the existing bilateral relations and future cooperation in the education Sector.

Cuba and Rwanda established diplomatic relations on September 9, 1979. Last year, Cuba’s designated Ambassador to Rwanda Mrs. Tania Perez Xiques handed over her letter of credence to President Paul Kagame at Village Urugwiro. 

In different meetings with Rwanda government officials, they discussed possibilities of cooperation in terms of health, services areas, education, among others. Many Rwandans that graduated in Cuba are now working in the National Health System. (End)
