Rwanda attended the 37th Sectoral Council on Cooperation in Defence in Tanzania

Today, a delegation from the Rwanda Defence Force, led by Juvenal Marizamunda, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Rwanda, and Major General Vincent Nyakarundi, the Army Chief of Staff, attended the 37th Meeting of the Sectoral Council on Cooperation in Defence Affairs at the East African Community Headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.

The event, which spans five days, commenced with sessions for Defence Experts on Operations and Training. 

The agenda also included meetings of the Sectoral Committee, the Consultative Committee on Cooperation in Defence, and the Sectoral Council itself.

During the meeting, various topics will be discussed, such as reports on the 13th East African Community (EAC) Armed Forces CPX and FTX USHIRIKIANO IMARA exercises. Additionally, there will be discussions and approval of the EAC Defence Sector Calendar of Activities for the period from March to June 2024. 

This calendar includes the FTX USHIRIKIANO IMARA, scheduled to take place in Rwanda in June 2024. (End).
