Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Yusuf Murangwa today welcomed Dr. Habtamu Fuje, the New IMF Resident Representative, for a courtesy call.
Minister Yusuf Murangwa and Dr. Habtamu Fuje discussed the strong Rwanda–IMF partnership, as well as other areas of mutual interests.
Rwanda has an extensive partnership with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) centered on policy coordination and climate resilience. Key aspects include accessing IMF financing through the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) for climate adaptation, receiving technical assistance for economic reforms, and collaborating on strategies to enhance domestic revenue, strengthen the fiscal framework, and promote private sector-led growth.
Rwanda was the first African country to access the RSF, demonstrating a close working relationship with the IMF on both economic stability and climate action. (End)
