Rwanda Security Forces in Mozambique handover the fish market constructed in Mocimboa da Praia City

Cabo Delgado: Today, the Rwandan Security Forces in Mozambique officially handed over a Fish Market in Mocimboa da Praia city to the city authorities. 

The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries including, the Governor of Cabo Delgado province, Mr Valige Tauabo, High Commissioner of Rwanda to Mozambique, Claude Nikobisanzwe, Mozambique Army commander, Major General Tiango Alberto Nampele and Mocimboa da Praia District authorities.

The market was constructed at an estimated cost of 25,000 USD within 54 days.

The Governor of Cabo Delgado Province (Valige TAUABO) who was the guest of honor commended the joint forces commitment to improve the quality of life of the population after returning to their homes.

The Rwanda Security Forces Joint Task Force Commander Major General Eugene Nkubito in his address said that Rwandan Security Forces are not in Cabo Delgado for combat operations only, but to also pledge their support to the social economic development of the province. He assured the authorities of their continued support to the leadership in addressing the human security issues in order to achieve lasting peace and security.

The ceremony was concluded by a friendly football match between RSF and Mocimboa da Praia youth football team. (End)
