Rwandan peacekeepers awarded UN medals in South Sudan

Rwandan peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) were decorated with UN medals in recognition of their contribution to maintaining peace and stability in their respective UN missions“800 UNMISS peacekeepers, including 62 women, from Rwanda, deployed to Malakal, South Sudan, have received the prestigious UN medal for their service.”, said the Ministry of defense via tweeter.

In a jubilant ceremony, Major-General Main Ullah Chowdhury, Acting Force Commander who presided over this special day, thanked Rwanda for its commitment to the UN mission and to the people of South Sudan.(End)
