Rwandan peacekeepers conduct community work in Bangui capital city

On 2 March 2024, Rwandan Peacekeepers (Rwabat12), serving under the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic(MINUSCA) in collaboration with the local community conducted community work in the 5th Arrondissement of Bangui capital city.

These activities included cleaning streets and drains to prevent floods in Bangui capital city. The community work aims at sharing the practice of ‘Umuganda’ as one of the homegrown solutions aimed at uniting people and helping the community to protect their environment.

Bangui City leadership and local population thanked Rwandan peacekeepers for their support in protecting civilians and participating in cleaning and protecting their environment.  

Since 2014, Rwandan peacekeepers have constituted the majority of MINUSCA’s force. Rwandan peacekeepers protect civilians, maintain peace and security in the Central African Republic, and run a level 2 hospital. (End)
