Rwandan peacekeepers under MINUSCA launched blood donation campaign

Rwandan peacekeepers-Rwabat2 (59 Infantry Battalion) serving under the Multidimensional Integrated Mission for Stabilization in Central African Republic (MINUSCA) launched a blood donation campaign.

It was in response to a call made by the Central African Republic Ministry of Health through the Bossembele District Hospital to donate blood for life saving.

Bossembele District Hospital started collecting blood among Rwandan peacekeepers at Rwabat2 Level I Hospital. The Hospital is expected to collect over two hundred blood units.

Dr Skeny NGOUMBANA, the representative of the Blood Transfusion Unit from Bossembele District Hospital thanked Rwandan peacekeepers for a lifesaving act that will improve the lives of patients. He emphasized that the support was very meaningful for their health service.

In his remarks, the Rwabat2 Contingent Commander, Lt Col PC RUNYANGE, commended the existing strong partnership in security with the local population.

Rwabat2 is an Infantry Battalion responsible for securing the Main Supply Route One (MSR1) from Bangui Capital City to Beloko towards Cameroun. (End)
