Rwandan Police peacekeepers in Central African Republic conduct Umuganda

Rwanda Formed Police Unit Three (RWAFPU-3) second rotation as well as Rwandan Individual Police Officers (IPO) deployed in Bangassou city under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), conducted Umuganda on Tuesday, February 6, to clean up the central market.

The hygiene communal work was also attended by peacekeepers from other contributing countries, the CAR Police and the local communities.

It was in line with the celebrations to mark the 5th anniversary of the Peace Agreement for Reconciliation in the Central African Republic.

The communal exercise was also graced by the prefect of Mbomu district, Madame Pierrette Benguerre, and the deputy Head of MINUSCA office in Bangassou, Tonga Hélène.

The activity involved collecting litter on streets and Bangassou central market.

Madam Benguerre thanked the Rwandan peacekeepers and the mission in general for working with the local population in human security activities and to foster unity and reconciliation. (End)
