Earlier today, Senate President Kalinda François Xavier, Speaker Mukabalisa Donatille, other members of the Bureaux of both chambers held talks with Ambassador Onyango Kakoba, Secretary General of Forum of Parliaments of Member States of the International Conference of Great Lakes Region (FP-ICGLR).
They exchanged various subjects including the security situation in the Great Lakes region. After the meeting of the two leaders, Ambassador Onyango Kakoba condemns killings and any other action that may further escalate the situation in DRC.
Ambassador Onyango Kakoba also said that the Parliament of Rwanda has been very much supportive to the Forum activities, while reminding that the first meeting which generated the idea of initiating this Forum took place in the Parliament of Rwanda in 2008. (End)
