The Ambassador of Cuba to Rwanda hold talks with the Speaker and the President of the Senate

Tania Pérez Xiqués, Ambassador of Cuba to Rwanda with residence in Kampala(Uganda), held talks with the President of the Senate, Dr Kalinda François Xavier, and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Mukabalisa Donatille.

Their discussions were based on pertinent issues among others to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation, and ways to initiate parliamentary collaboration between the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies and the National Assembly of the Republic of Cuba for the benefit of both nations.

Rwanda and Cuba share many social achievements such as both are leading the numbers of women in the parliaments in the world, with 61.3 and 54.3 percent, respectively.

Cuba and Rwanda established diplomatic relations on September 9. Ambassador Tania Perez Xiques who is in Rwanda for a working visit handed over her letter of credence to President Paul Kagame last year. (End)
