Turks in Rwanda participate in Umuganda Community Work

Yunus Emre Institute Office functioning in the University of Rwanda in coordination with the District of Gasabo arranged the Tree Planting Event under the slogan “Breath For the Future”. Coordinator of the Insititute, Enes Karaçoban, informed that 100 trees were planted in front of the Ndera Teaching Hospital.

Turkish language students, graduates of Turkish universities, as well as some Turkish nationals living in Kigali also attended the event.

Turkish Ambassador Aslan Alper Yüksel and members of the Turkish Embassy were also among the participants, which planted trees near the Hospital.

Ambassador Yüksel thanked the Yunus Emre Insititute and the relevant local Rwandan authorities for the organization.

He stated that the participation of Turks in Umuganda is an expression of respect for this important Rwandan tradition and a sign of the Turkish-Rwandan friendship.

 It is also a contribution for protecting the environment. He went on to explain that the slogan “Breath for the Future” is also used in Türkiye and other countries, where Turkish institutions carry out similar projects for a greener environment. (End)
