Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema expected in Rwanda

Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema is today expected in Kigali, Rwanda, for a two-day state visit at the invitation of his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame.

The Head of state is scheduled to be received by Rwanda’s Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Manasseh Nshuti and Rwanda’s Ambassador to Zambia Amandin Rugira.

Others to receive the President at Kigali International Airport are senior government officials from Zambia who include Foreign Affairs Minister Stanley Kakubo and  Commerce Minister Chipoka Mulenga.

Upon arrival President Hichilema will then proceed to Urugwiro village, the office of the President where he will be received by President Paul Kagame.

The two heads of state will later hold private talks at the State House.

This evening President Hichilema is scheduled to attend a State Banquet at Serena Hotel, hosted in his honor by President Kagame.

Tomorrow the two heads of state are expected to unlock several issues that have been hindering bilateral trade between Zambia and Rwanda.

President Hichilema is also anticipated to hold bilateral talks with President Kagame to focus on areas of trade, investment and infrastructure development.

The President will also attend an Inclusive FINTECH Business Forum where he is scheduled to give a keynote address before proceeding to inspect the Kigali Special Economic Zone which accommodates different industries in the manufacturing sector. (End)
