Belgium Defence Minister paid a courtesy visit to his Rwandan counterpart

Today, The Belgium Defence Minister  Ludivine DEDONDER, accompanied by a delegation that included the Vice-Chief of Defence of the Belgium Armed Forces, Lt Gen Aviateur Frederik Vansina visited Rwanda Defence Force headquarters. 

They were received by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Juvenal MARIZAMUNDA, and the RDF Chief of Defence Staff, General MK Mubarakh.

During their discussions, a range of topics were covered, notably focusing on enhancing the existing Belgium-Rwanda defence cooperation. 

Prior to their meeting with the Hon Minister of Defence and the RDF CDS, the Belgium defence officials, Rwanda MoD and senior RDF representatives paid tribute to the 10 Belgium Peacekeepers who were murdered in the first hours of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. 

This event took place at the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial. (former camp Kigali).  (End)
