The Parliamentary Public Account Committee (PAC) is due to conduct the public hearings for the public institutions and projects that have been identified with irregularities in the management of public finances and resources in the report of the Office of the Auditor General for the fiscal year 2020/2021.
From 5-23 September 2022, High officials, and staff members from 85 public institutions and 31 projects are expected to appear before PAC members to explain cases of mismanagement raised by the Auditor General.
Each year, the PAC scrutinizes the Auditor General’s report and organizes public hearings where Government officials provide explanations on budget execution in their respective institutions.
The Plenary Assembly of the Chamber of Deputies approves and submits PAC’s recommendations to the relevant authorities so as to take measures for proper management of public funds in accordance with the Constitution of Rwanda, public finance management and procurement laws. (End)
