Four cabinet ministers to be sworn-in today

Finance minister John Rwangombwa, Justice Minister Tharcisse Karugarama, ICT minister Dr. Igance Gatare and Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs minister Gen. Marcel Gatsinzi were not present on October 7th when President Paul Kagame sworn-in his cabinet.

President Kagame and PM Bernard Makuza agreed to retain the 25-member cabinet team – but with three positions still vacant including the Information Ministry which continues to be supervised by the Cabinet Affairs Minister, Protais Musoni.

The cabinet is constituted by the Prime Minister in consultation with the President. The cabinet is drawn from about four political parties – with the ruling RPF in control of all the major portfolios.
