Israel Ambassador Ron Adam bids farewell to President Kagame

Today at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame received Dr. Ron Adam, Israel Ambassador to Rwanda, for a farewell audience as he concludes his tour of duty.

Dr. Ron Adam was Israel’s first ambassador to Rwanda and presented his credentials on February 24, 2019 to Rwandan President Paul Kagame as Israel’s 11th embassy in Africa went into full operation.

The Republic of Rwanda and the State of Israel have enjoyed, over the years, a special, strong and fruitful relationship. In recent years, there has been an increase in high-level state visits between the two countries. In 2016, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Rwanda and in 2017, Rwandan President Paul Kagame visited Israel. Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Kagame also met in Nairobi in November of 2017. Israel and Rwanda continue to boost ties in a number of fields including education, technology, cyber-security, agriculture and energy.

Dr. Ron Adam, who has been the Ambassador of Israel in Rwanda for almost five years, is one of the ambassadors who was often seen in various activities in Rwanda, participating in events and concerts mainly for the youth and other things aimed at promoting relations between Rwandans and Israel. It is expected that Dr. Ron Adam will be replaced by Einat Weiss, as decided by the Cabinet meeting on June 6, 2023. Ambassador Einat Weiss will be based in Kigali.(End)
