Kayonza District to host first-ever Investment Forum

Kayonza District is joining forces with the Eastern Province, the Rwanda Development Board and the Private Sector Federation to host the first ever Kayonza Investment Forum, a groundbreaking event that aims to propel the district into a new era of inclusive economic growth. This forum reflects Rwanda’s ambitions under the National Strategy for Transformation (NST1), which emphasises the pivotal role of the private sector in realising sustained economic growth and transformation.

The forum will take place on Tuesday, 31 October 2023 from 9:30-12:30 at Silent Hill Hotel under the theme, “Unlocking Opportunities for Inclusive Economic Growth.” This important gathering aims to foster a thriving, inclusive investment landscape in Kayonza. In alignment with Rwanda’s national development goals, the forum aims to promote public-private collaboration and local solutions to achieve NST1’s lofty ambitions.

At the forum, attendees can anticipate constructive discussions on inclusive growth avenues in Kayonza, particularly emphasising job creation for women and youth. The event will feature a presentation and documentary on investment opportunities, followed by a panel discussion with key stakeholders. The forum will culminate in a dialogue for participants to explore investment opportunities in Kayonza.

“This forum is a testament to Kayonza’s commitment to pioneering sustainable and inclusive economic growth. We invite stakeholders from all sectors to join hands with us as we embark on this transformative journey,” said Jean Bosco Nyemazi, Mayor of Kayonza District.

Kayonza District offers a range of unique investment opportunities, ranging from tourism and hospitality, agriculture and developing local materials to enhancing transportation networks and logistics as well as industries like mining and processing. The forum will spotlight Kayonza’s investment opportunities, strengthen the partnership between the district and private sector initiatives, and aims to lead to increased commitment from potential investors.

With over 250 participants expected, attendees will represent a diverse cross-section including potential investors, representatives from the Eastern Province, Rwanda Development Board, Kayonza District, the Private Sector Federation, faith-based organisations, and the media. The event is supported by partners including the Eastern Province, Rwanda Development Board, and the Private Sector Federation.
