Mali’s Sports Minister Abdoul Kassim Ibrahim Fomba, who is in Kigali to attend Women’s Afrobasket 2023, joined residents of the City of Kigali for the monthly community work commonly known as “Umuganda”.
Afterwards, Minister Abdoul Kassim Ibrahim Fomba attended a meeting held after Umuganda in a nearby village and he was welcomed by many local residents as well as the authorities of Kigali City, who were also present at the meeting.
In his remarks at the meeting, Minister Abdoul Kassim Ibrahim Fomba said that Mali has a lot of things to learn from the tradition of Umuganda in which a whole community is engaged and he expressed his hope to further deepen the relationships between Mali and Rwanda. (End)
