Minister of State Kabarebe attended celebrations of Pakistan Day

Kabarebe commended the growing cooperation between Rwanda and Pakistan

Minister of State in charge of Regional Cooperation,  James Kabarebe, joined the Pakistan High Commission in Rwanda to mark the National Day of Pakistan.

In his remarks, Minister of State General (Rtd) James Kabarebe commended the growing cooperation between Rwanda and Pakistan in areas of mutual interest.

Rwanda and Pakistan, with a longstanding relationship spanning sixty-two years, actively collaborate in various fields including trade, health, and investment.

The National Day of Pakistan celebrations in Kigali were attended by High Commissioners, Ambassadors, the country’s diaspora community, and distinguished guests.

The day commemorates the historic Lahore Resolution passed on March 23, 1940, following which a united struggle for an independent homeland for the Muslims of the region was launched, culminating in the independence of Pakistan in 1947.

Rwanda and Pakistan established diplomatic ties in July 1962. Rwanda is represented in Pakistan by its Embassy in Beijing, China, while Pakistan has had a resident High Commission in Kigali since March 2021. (End)
