Premier Ngirente received Venezuela’s Minister of Foreign Affairs

Today, Rwanda’s Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente received Mr. Yván Eduardo Gil Pinto, Minister of the People’s Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente and Minister Yván Eduardo Gil Pinto discussed how to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors of shared interest between Rwanda and Venezuela.

Venezuela’s Minister of Foreign Affairs arrived on Tuesday in Rwanda, the third destination of his tour of Africa, in which he previously visited Ethiopia and Republic of Congo, in order to deepen bilateral and cooperation agreements.

Minister Yván Eduardo Gil Pinto who is in Rwanda for a three-day official visit  pointed out that the objective is to plan a future of greater cooperation. 

Today, Yván Eduardo Gil Pinto also met Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Vincent Biruta. 

“We continue to carry the message of unity, work and peace of our people and the President. Nicolás Maduro, to the countries of Mother Africa. This time we have arrived in the Republic of Rwanda to reinforce the bilateral agenda and plan a future of greater cooperation,” Minister Eduardo Gil Pinto wrote in his account.

Venezuela and Rwanda established diplomatic relations on August 18, 1981, as a way to strengthen the ties of cooperation and understanding between both brother countries.

In September of this year, President Maduro of Venezuela held a meeting with his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, in order to review the strategic cooperation between both nations. They met in the context of the G77+China Summit, which took place for two days in Havana(Cuba). 

Both countries have agreed on the need to advance bilateral cooperation in the areas of education, transportation, tourism and culture, among others. (End).
