President Kagame meets NBA Africa CEO, BAL boss

President Kagame received Clare Akamanzi, CEO of NBA Africa, and Amadou Gallo Fall, President of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). 

According to a statement from President Kagame’s office, they discussed BAL’s partnership with Rwanda and the upcoming BAL finals scheduled to take place in Kigali from 24 May to 1 June 2024.

Rwanda and Basketball Africa League multi-year partnership will see Rwanda positioned as a continental hub for sporting events and sports-based tourism.

The Basketball Africa League is Africa’s top-tier basketball league, and is a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). 

Headquartered in Dakar, Senegal, it expands FIBA’s regional club competitions and represents the NBA’s first league outside of North America. (End)
