RDB organizes Musanze Investment Forum to showcase opportunities for private sector

RDB’s Head of Investment Promotion, Winifred Ngangure presents to different entrepreneurs on the different opportunities for investment in Musanze District during the forum.

Musanze: As part of a series of district investment forums taking place across the country, RDB (Rwanda Development Board) today organized the Musanze Investment Forum. The Forum, which attracted over 200 attendees from the private and public sectors was organized in partnership with the Musanze District administration.

Speaking during the event, the RDB Head of Investment Promotion, Winifred Ngangure, said:
“There are vast profitable investment opportunities in Musanze in sectors such as tourism, agriculture and food security, manufacturing and mining. The district offers the right kind of business environment that investors can leverage on to successfully do business.”

Investment opportunities in Musanze District include:

Tourism: Investors have the opportunity to participate in developing the district’s tourism infrastructure projects especially the Ruhondo and Burera twin lakes. Investors also have the opportunity to invest in world class high-end ecotourism companies while also building the capacity of their staff to provide first-rate levels of service delivery. Other opportunities also lie in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) in the district.

Agriculture and Food Security: Musanze District has various agro-business opportunities for investors which include crop sourcing for trade which includes providing support to small scale farmers to improve crop quality. Furthermore, entrepreneurs can invest in the provision of seeds and fertilizers to farmers and scaling up of irrigation and mechanization techniques. Opportunities also abound in aquaculture, horticulture, meat production, poultry, dairy products, feeds and cold chain infrastructure development.

Manufacturing: Investors have opportunities to develop industries in wood processing, packaging, textiles and agro processing in the district’s Ruvunda Industrial Zone.

Mining: Musanze is rich in minerals and is the largest producing district of tantalum in the country. Opportunities in the district lie in tantalum and wolfram processing, tin, tungsten and tantalum mining and gemstone cutting and polishing. (End)
