Rubavu: A first Investor Forum took place in Rubavu District today with RDB encouraging members of both the local and international business community to invest in the district.
The Forum, which attracted over 200 people from the private sector and government, was organized by the Rubavu District administration.
Speaking during the event, Winifred Ngangure, the RDB Head of Investment Promotion said: “There are vast profitable investment opportunities in a number of sectors ranging from tourism, real estate and agriculture. The district offers the right kind of business environment that investors can leverage on to successfully do business.”
Investment opportunities in Rubavu District include:
-Tourism: investors have the opportunity to be part of proposed projects in tourism which include the Gisenyi Beach side Marina Development, high end hotels and eco-lodges, developing the Bigogwe Rock Climbing and Stairway, Nengo Hill Zipline and Gisenyi beach.
-Infrastructure and real estate development: The district presents a number of competitive advantages in the construction sector with different projects to invest in that include the Rugerero Real Estate development, Gisenyi City Market, Modern Bus Park development, Rubavu Shopping Mall and the Mbugangari Business Complex.
-Agriculture: Rubavu District has various agribusiness opportunities for investors which include fish farming, ago-processing and collective investment opportunities offered by the local arm of the Private Sector Federation (PSF). (End)
