Rwanda, UAE commit to promote bilateral cooperation in labour mobility

Kigali: A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Government of the Republic of Rwanda and the Government of the United Arab Emirates to foster labour mobility.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by RWANYINDO KAYIRANGWA Fanfan, Minister of Public Service and Labour on behalf of the Government of Rwanda and by Nasser Bin Thani Juma Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization representing the Government of the United Arab Emirates.

On the side of the Government of Rwanda, the signing ceremony was also attended by Rosemary MBABAZI, Minister of Youth and CEO of RDB/Cabinet Member, among other Government Officials.

Other Members of the Delegation from the United Arab Emirates who were present at the signing ceremony are Hazza Mohammed Kharsan Al Qahtany, Ambassador  of the United Arab Emirates in Rwanda, Omar Abdulrahman Saleh Abdullah Alnuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Communication and International Relations, Abdullah Ali Rashid Abdullah Alnuaimi, Director of International Relations Department, Waleed Mueen Malalla Mohammed Alhosani, Assistant Expert, and Abdullaziz Ali Mohammed Rahmah Alshamsi, Executive in charge of International Organizations in the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

The signed MoU is expected to facilitate labour mobility between Rwanda and the United Arab Emirates, allowing Rwandans to access jobs opportunities in the United Arab Emirates through exchange of workforce as well as transfer of skills and knowledge.

Through this agreement, the Government of Rwanda seeks to promote job creation for competent and skilled Rwandan Youth in line with the National Strategy for Transformation (NST1).

This initiative coupled with interventions of the National Employment Policy and Labour Mobility Policy will secure more opportunities for Rwandans both in country and at regional and global labour markets. (End)
