Minister Counsellor at General Consulate of Rwanda in Dubai, Eduard Bizumuremyi, accompanied by NAEB and IDH Rwanda representatives, visited the Carrefour market warehouse in the United Arab Emirates to inspect the quality of avocados from Rwanda’s first reefer container shipment by sea.
The first reefer container cargo of avocados by sea landed in Dubai safely 20 days after leaving Kigali on November 25th, 2022, with the sea trip taking 14 days from the port of Mombasa to the port of Jabel Ali – Dubai, UAE.
The delegation was pleased with the quality of the avocado goods they got. This suggests that Rwandan fresh food will have more options to sell on the worldwide market. (End)
