The Company “GLOBELEQ,” plans to extract methane gas in Rwanda

Energy sector is very important to develop, and it requires a lot of capital which has to come from private sectors.

Speaking to journalists he highlighted that, “We would like to invest in power generation and we are looking for very Stiffen projects in Rwanda particularly like methane as in Tanzania we have gas from ocean”.

Our first sight about the methane panel that we saw in Lake Kivu impressed us as investors and it’s very clear that it’s a great resource that Rwanda has got and we are very impressed to see such projects on way.

Our target is to invest in Rwanda as per now most of our projects were mainly based in Kenya, Tanzania, Ivory Coast and South Africa and what we are doing now is to find out areas of our interest to invest and Rwanda seems to be a place to build more power station. Currently there’s a need of extra generation in the country as Rwanda is among the countries with good resources like methane.

We always look for attractive countries which are economically stable with good policy to attract investors to come in the country as Rwanda.

Dr. Rajah Vijay Kumar the chairman of Organization Scalene says, their main interest is much in technology solutions as we are among some leading providers and In order to invest in Rwanda, he says there is first a need of conducting a research in which they can initiate as investment path in the area of their interest.

He says that after studying the ground, they intend to come back as soon as possible to discuss with the government of Rwanda for investment process.

“I am much interested in energy basically in power and our company has a good expertise in this field especially in using technologies and direct investment “he added that, in order to increase the production of power and gas we need an appropriate technology suitable for Rwanda.

He elaborated that, “There’s a great potential and everything is good enough to us as the top leaders are friendly and understandable to help us in boosting technology at a very good competitive price”.

As we are very new to African market, we need to add value to Rwandan energy sector as so far we work in Europe, India and in South Africa.

Speaking to RNA reporter, Dr. Rajah finds some challenges which still occur on the African continent like lack of appropriate technologies in energy sector which is suitable for the region and it’s mainly in all aspects like finance, politics and agriculture, but as Rwanda is stable, “That’s why we have much interest in investing here” he said.
