Chinese Embassy in Rwanda holds reception celebrating the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China

Prof Nshuti extended heartfelt congratulations to China on the 74th anniversary of her founding

The Chinese Embassy in Rwanda held a reception on Tuesday to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. More than 300 people participated in the event, among whom are Rwandan dignitaries including Amb. Wellars Gasamagera, Secretary General of RPF-Inkotanyi, Prof. Manasseh Nshuti, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Charge of East African Community, Sandrine Umutoni, Minister of State for Youth, friends from all walks of life in Rwanda, members of diplomatic corps, and representatives of Chinese community in Rwanda.

In his remarks, Ambassador Wang Xuekun reviewed the achievements of the People’s Republic of China since her founding and the fruitful results of China-Rwanda friendly cooperation. He emphasized that China is firmly committed to the development of China-Rwanda relations and is willing to work with Rwanda to advance Africa’s modernization and jointly build a community of shared future for mankind. 

According to him, China’s economy reached approximately 18 trillion U.S. dollars in 2022, ranking as the second-largest in the world. “The Chinese people are now striving to build a great modern socialist country in all respects and to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. This is the unwavering pursuit of the Chinese people. This modernization does not only belong to China but also reflects China’s commitment to building a better world,” he said.

On behalf of the Government of Rwanda, Prof Nshuti extended heartfelt congratulations to China on the 74th anniversary of her founding. He spoke highly of Rwanda-China friendship and all-round tangible cooperation between the two countries. He appraised China’s support to Africa’s development through FOCAC and other mechanisms, and believes that China and Rwanda, under the guidance of the leadership, will further deepen bilateral relations and deliver more benefits to the people.

The reception was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Guests extended their congratulations on National Day, thanked China for her important contributions to Rwanda’s development, and look forward to jointly working with the Chinese sides in bringing the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries to a new level.(End)
