The Director of Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), Brigadier General Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa, visited Rwanda Defence Force Headquarters and was received by the Minister of Defence Major General Albert Murasira and Chief of Defence Staff(CDS), General Jean Bosco Kazura.
Brigadier General Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa was accompanied by EASF Commander, Brigadier General Vincent Gatama, and Head of Peace Operations Department, Brigadier General Domicien Kalisa.
The purpose of their visit was to appraise the Minister and CDS about EASF activities and also discuss ways of strengthening EASF to be poised for future challenges.
The team also evaluated Rwanda’s pledged capabilities (military & police) in line with the EASF Force readiness assessment. (End)
