Dr. Patrick Hitayezu has been dismissed from his duties as Chief Economist in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN) “due to gross misconduct in performing his duties.”
The dismissal was announced through a statement signed by the Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente.
Dr. Patrick Hitayezu had been appointed to the position in July 2022. Before joining MINECOFIN, he headed the research department at the Central Bank of Rwanda. (End)
