Minerals generated more than 243 billion Frw in three months

The National Institute of Mines, Gas and Petroleum, (RMB) has announced that in the third quarter of 2023, from July to September, minerals mined in Rwanda earned more than $241 million (over 243 billion Frw).

It was announced in the company’s report showing the status of mining from July and September 2023, which was released on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

During these months, Rwanda sold 294,717 KG of cassiterite in July with a value of $5,367,704. In August, 415,482 KG were sold for $6,906,567, and in September 440,176 KG were sold for a value of $6,783,099.

The Coltan production Rwanda exported in July was 189,183 KG valued $8,145,587. In August, 141,658 KG were sold for $5,827,562 while in September 208,155 KG were sold for $9,313,654.

Wolfram stones traded in July were 237,116 KG for $3,040,783. In August, 198,409 KG were for $2,663,971; and in September, 218,802 KG were traded for $2,711,206.

In August, 1,000 KG were sold for $62,156,101 while in September 845 KG were traded for a profit of $52,676,671.

 Other precious stones traded in July amounted to 1,210,458 KG, which earned $1,085,647. In August, it was 1,219,670 KG valued at $1,249,889, and in September, 739,711 KG were shipped valued at $713,714.

The RMB Institute, reports that in total from July to September 2023, the amount of KG of minerals exported is 5,516,538 KG with a value of $241,833,194, which is equal to an increase of 22.4%, compared to the same quarter last year, as the quantity traded was 321,566 KG with a value of $197,496,029.
