President Kagame met with Reed Hastings, the Executive Chairman of Netflix, for a discussion on existing partnerships, including the recently launched initiative with Airtel Rwanda that has enabled access to affordable smartphones and data.
To date, 52,558 Rwandans have benefitted from this initiative which aims to contribute to Rwanda’s goal of ensuring universal access to digital opportunities.
Netflix is an American subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service. The service primarily distributes original and acquired films and television shows from various genres, and it is available internationally in multiple languages. (End)
