President Kagame speaks with the Canadian Prime Minister

The President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, spoke today with the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The two leaders discussed about the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kigali scheduled between June 20 and 26.

“Had a good telephone conversation with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about bilateral and global issues of common interest. I am happy to be welcoming him to CHOGM2022 next week along with other leaders, and look forward to broadening our discussion and our cooperation”, said President Kagame via tweeter.

The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, announced that he will participate in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM)  from June 23 to 25, 2022.

Prime Minister Trudeau will reaffirm Canada’s commitment to the core values that bring the countries of the Commonwealth together: free and democratic societies and the promotion of peace and prosperity to improve the lives of all people.

“He will advance collaboration on continuing to hold Russia accountable for its unjustifiable invasion of Ukraine, addressing food security, and fighting climate change” according to his office.

This year, leaders will meet under the theme “Delivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming” and discuss how to improve the lives of the citizens of the Commonwealth’s 54 countries. (End)
