Qatar’s Chief of Defense Staff on visit to Rwanda for three days

The Commander-in-Chief of the Qatari Armed Forces, Lt. General Salem Bin Hamad Al-Nabit, is visiting Rwanda for three days since yesterday.

On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, on the second day of his visit, the Commander-in-Chief of the Qatar Armed Forces visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where he paid his respects and laid flowers at the Memorial Genocide site in Gisozi.

After visiting the memorial, he is expected to visit the Museum of the History of the War to End Genocide at Kimihurura, and later to hold talks with his Rwandan counterpart, Gen Jean-Bosco Kazura and the Minister of Defense Maj. Gen. Albert Murasira.

The visit comes after President Kagame’s visit to Doha, the capital of Qatar, on February 14, 2022, during which he held talks with the country’s Supreme Leader, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

The talks focused on maintaining good relations between the two countries, as well as strengthening cooperation in joint projects between Rwanda and Qatar. (End)
