Rwandan peacekeepers and local residents conducted community work in Juba

On 24 November 2023, Rwandan peacekeepers (RWANBATT3) serving under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) jointly with Juba city leadership, local population and Society of Health Family (SHF) conducted community work focusing on cleaning areas of Gudele Block 4 and Munuki Payam in Juba capital city.

During the community work, Rwandan peacekeepers provided medical services through testing and treating Malaria in Gudele Block 4 and Munuki Payam; 102 people were treated.

While addressing the participants, the representative of the South Sudan Ministry of health, Dr Ismael Abdu Nimaya commended the Rwandan peacekeepers for the continued contribution towards security, health, and wellbeing of the local community.

The RWANBATT-3 Contingent Commander, Col John Tayson SESONGA thanked the leadership and the local population for conducting community work that promotes environmental protection.

He also encouraged local residents to adopt the community work as a solution to maintain a clean and safe environment. (End).
