German Development Minister at the Kigali genocide Memorial

German Development Minister Svenja Schulze visited the Kigali genocide Memorial Centre and  paid respects to victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi.

Together with her team, Minister Svenja Schulze toured the memorial exhibits to learn more about the history of Genocide and Rwanda’s journey to reconstruction.

Minister Svenja Schulze and her team were deeply affected and moved by the visit to Kigali Memorial. They condole with the victims and express greatest respect to the people who, following the genocide against the Tutsi, had the courage to embrace reconciliation work. 

At the end of his visit to memorial, Minister Svenja Schulze signed in the memorial guest book where he wrote a touching message.

“I’m deeply affected and moved by the visit to the genocide memorial. We condole with the victims but cannot even begin to imagine the human suffering of those who were killed and those who were bereaved. Therefore, my greatest respect goes to the people, who following the genocide against the Tutsi, had the courage to embrace reconciliation work.” (End)
