The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza, on Tuesday, November 29, presided over the pass out of 247 Police officers and prison wardens, who completed a four-month Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) course at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari in Rwamagana District.
The Police Chief embarked on what awaits them in policing and security matters.
“Police Constables and the NCOs constitute the biggest number of Police officers and in its policing responsibilities, and that adds value to the face of Rwanda National Police services.
When you serve the people exceptionally with discipline…that is the pride and image expected of you,” IGP Munyuza said.
The acquired knowledge and skills, he said, will be defined by the impact they will bring in their units.
“Have positive attitude and thinking, do your work well, use the acquired skills to add value to your policing duties, work professionally with a patriotic spirit, and be practical in your respect for superiors,” the Police Chief told the officers.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Robert Niyonshuti, the PTS Commandant said that the officers demonstrated “positive attitude, commitment and the will” throughout their 16 weeks of training.
The NCO course is designed to further enhance the abilities of the officers in public order management, Police station organization and duties, physical fitness, drills and duties, map reading, field-craft and tactics and Police ethics, among others. (End).
